    Prolificity

I know that’s not a word, but it should be. I titled this entry that because we’ve been taking a lot of pictures of the snow, putting them on Flickr and posting more at Monkey.

I’ve also been reading a book that’s on my Amazon Wish List. I’m reading “The World is Flat” by Thomas Friedman because my father-in-law, Gerry, had a copy of it that his boss told everyone to read. He had gotten a few pages into it and wasn’t reading anymore so I’ve been borrowing it. I still want a copy even though I’m now half way through it.

    Bloggin’

I’m attempting to resurrect this whole idea of blogging and publishing my thoughts, ideas, and happenings on the web. Rose and I will be using Monkey as our main blog and I’ve already begun to discuss my goings on. I’ll talk about more later but check out Monkey.

    *UPDATE*

Just in case you’re not watching Monkey, a lot of stuff has gone down recently. Some crappy, some not so crappy.

    Monkey

Rose, David and Oskar’s blog is up and running and looks pretty too. There is a link on the right-hand side of the page but here it is too: monkey.spaceninja.com.

    Ooops!

Hi everyone, sorry for the confusion about posting. It was a problem with permissions on the basic user accounts, and I’ve fixed it now. In order to post, you’ll need to log in, and then go to the admin area and use the “Write” tool. Here’s how:

    1. LOG IN – Click on the “Log In” link in the sidebar, and then login with your first name as your user name, with the first letter capitalized (eg, Scott – not scott or SCOTT). If you don’t know your password, contact David or myself.
    2. GO TO THE ADMIN AREA – If you just logged in, you have been automatically sent to the admin area. If you previously logged in, then the “Log In” link on the front page has been replaced with a “Site Admin” link that will take you to the admin area.
    3. WRITE A POST – Click on the “Write” link near the top of the page, and you will be taken to the “Write Post” form. Use this as you normally would, and when you’re done, click on the “Publish” button to put your post on the front page of the site.

That’s it! If anyone still has any questions, feel free to contact me.

    Everyone has a new account!

Hi everyone, I’m really sorry to do this to everyone again, but the changes I made required that we re-created everyone’s user accounts. What this means is that everyone still has an account, but their password has been reset. Your login name is your first name, capitalized (eg, Scott – not scott or SCOTT). To get your temporary password, you can call or email David or myself.

Once you get your temporary password, click on the “Log In” link in the sidebar, and then once you’ve logged in, click on the “Users” link, which will open your user details. Scroll down to the bottom, and type your new password.

If anyone has any difficulties with this, feel free to contact me directly, and I will be glad to walk you through it.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience – this should never have to happen again.

    David: stockmanrd (at) msn.net
    Scott: fake-scott (at) spaceninja.com

Note: Annie just pointed out to me that it will require your email address. Don’t worry, your email will not be displayed anywhere on the site, and it will be safe from spam – but if you’re concerned about it, just enter a fake email, like changeme@changeme.com or bill@microsoft.com.

      Salutations Scott!
Don,t see a “Log In” link, nor do I see a
sidebar for that matter. Could you assist an
      aging, computer-challenged old fart?

      Peace,
      Mr. Darby

Yeah, I had a feeling that was gonna bite me in the ass. ;)

Last night Dave and I applied this new “theme” to the site, and unfortunately, this one doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles the other one did – like a “log in” link. I’ll get it restored today.

      Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Wha Happen?

You may have noticed that things look a little different around here. This is because I’m doing some major work behind-the-scenes to switch this site from Movable Type, a very nice (but expensive) weblog program, to WordPress, an equally nice (but free and open-source) weblog program. It will probably take me a few days to fully restore this site to the way it looked before, so please bear with me.

    Changes

Hi everyone, I made some small changes to the design and some bigger changes behind-the-scenes. If the weblog looks funny at all, press the Reload or Refresh button on your browser. If it still looks funny, leave me a comment here, and I’ll look into it.

    Say Goodbye, Don’t Follow

    http://www.ironmanwisconsin.com/wisclock.html

As we used to say in the SuperNES days:

    BOOMSHAKALAKA!

“Jill Greenburg is an accomplished celebrity photographer. Recently, though, she’s turned her attention to another biped: monkeys. She discovered her affection for monkey portraits on a commercial, and started renting various species of trained primates and taking their photos as if they were A-list celebrities. The portraits express an amazing range of emotion, and are way more interesting that your average celebrity pic.”

    Brand New O-Talk-Cron!

Welcome to Dysnomia, the new incarnation of the O-Talk-Cron! I’ve just finished setting it up, and all the old posts have been imported, and everyone’s old user accounts have been brought over. If you want access to your account, just contact myself or David – I’m probably a better bet, since I have net access at home – and we’ll hook you up with your password, and the ability to post.

I’ll be posting more later with some instructions on how to use the new site, including the new features, like the ability to easily post photos, or turn off comments on a post.
